Carla Abellana on construction of new house: “Ang daming gastos!”

GMA-7 actress Carla Abellana is looking forward to moving into her dream home.

Carla shared updates about her new house’s construction in an interview with 24 Oras entertainment correspondent Nelson Canlas and PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during her press launch for Collagen by Watsons last October 14, 2022 at Mango Tree Cafe in SM Megamall.

Carla revealed that her dream home was actually five years in the making.

“I bought a property, yung lot, in 2018,” the 36-year-old Kapuso actress recalled.

She continued, “Actually, medyo miraculous nga yun, kasi pangarap ko talagang makabili ng property doon sa particular village na yun.

“But as time passed, tumaas nang tumas yung value. Naging mahal, hindi ko na na-afford.

“But yun nga, thankfully, nakahabol pa ako, nakabili pa. Akalain mo, meron pa palang available. And then, just this year, nag-start na yung construction.”

Carla revealed that it’s quite expensive to build a house during these trying times, especially with the rising prices of construction materials.

She said, “Exciting na at the same time nakakatakot dahil ang daming gastos. We started construction in March. Okay ang progress, mabilis.

“Siyempre, we’re hoping na by next year, matapos na siya and mag-move in na ako. Yun lang yung very exciting but oh my gosh, grabe yung gastos!

“Grabe talaga yung… lalo na kasi, yung construction materials, yung equipment, spike up yung prices. Affected din iyan.

“Ang taas din ng mga presyo pero thankfully, kaya naman. Kumbaga, laging may enough para i-set aside para sa construction.”

Carla also admitted that she is already feeling a mix of emotions as she sees the progress of her house’s construction.

The To Have and To Hold actress admits that she is still having a hard time imagining what her dream home will look like.

But more than anything, Carla said she is already looking forward to moving into her dream home by mid-2023.

She said, “Of course, I have the vision. Andiyan naman yung architect, yung interior designer, ganyan.

“May mock-up naman, nasa rendering, photos, all of that… [pati] videos. Pero ang hirap, hindi ko pa siya ma-picture ngayon kasi cement pa lang siya.

“Hirap pa ako i-visualize. Of course, yung shell pa lang, yung structure pa lang yung nagagawa, e. So all floors, and then the walls, ganyan, roofing.

“Siguro, kapag medyo pumasok na sa loob, inumpisahan na yung mga fixtures, dun ko lang mas mai-imagine o at least, mas maa-appreciate, mapi-picture.

“I’m sure mas magiging exciting pa yun.”
